The Montessori program’s child care and educational experience is based on the continuing self-discovery of the child and his/her acclimation to the learning process through every stage of personal development. It builds on the continuing self-construction of the child – daily, weekly, yearly – for the duration of the educational experience. Each of our classrooms have multiage groupings that foster peer learning, uninterrupted blocks of work time, and guided choice of work activity. Multiage groupings are a hallmark of the Montessori Method: younger children learn from older children; older children reinforce their learning by teaching concepts they have already mastered. This arrangement also mirrors the real world, where individuals work and socialize with people of all ages and dispositions
